The Motor Skills Story

Motor skills are the building blocks of developing the ability to move around in the human growth chart. Moving around? Yes, moving around come in several forms from babies to toddlers and to preschoolers:


  • crawl
  • creep
  • shuffle
  • inch
  • roll
  • slide
  • slither
Babies and toddlers are encouraged to explore the above movement skills before attempting to walk. Research-support information attest to the significance of wiring the brain to the movement skills so that the required brain growth is possible.

Brain growth? Yes. The brain needs to be constantly "fired" and "stimulated" so as to prepare itself for higher level thinking skills to function.
